Saturdays are my longer 3-Day training days and supposedly one of the best ways to train is to hike. So, we packed up and headed to the mountains. The kids were great and probably finished almost 5 miles of the hike. My mom and I went on, while the kids rested and came back during this sequence of pictures (watch Jada):

Susan G. Komen 3-Day

On September 24th, I will be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, in an event that is very close to my heart, called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.
Why am I doing this? I walk to honor my grandmother and my aunt who have both recently fought breast cancer and been blessed to overcome it, for now. I walk to pay tribute to a close family friend who died recently of breast cancer leaving behind four orphaned sons because their dad died of cancer two years before. I walk because my heart tells me that I can do something, have an impact, and accomplish something that will be challenging but definitely worth the price!
The thing that has been the hardest for me is the fundraising. It is so uncomfortable to me to ask for donations, yet I know I have to raise the money in order to walk. The training is going great! The boys pile into the double stroller with snacks and a Nintendo DS and we are good to go! Thank you to all those who have supported me both financially and emotionally. I truly am blessed with an amazing family and wonderful friends!

9!
For Kailey's birthday party we made plans to go to the Great Wolf Lodge with some friends. So on her actual birthday, she wanted to have a family baseball game. And it just so happened that we had a gorgeous day that day, so game on!
okay, a little posed...but do you know how hard it is to get an action shot with my camera? **Mother's day gift hint**
Ethan is trying to figure out how this works!

Big Brother
There is one thing that I've learned in the past 6 months. If Brayden does it, Ethan is going to try! So, one sunny day I sent the kids out to play and came out to check on them and found this. Brayden decided to teach Ethan what he has been learning at school! ;>

Good news, I was able to find the shoe that was lost in the mud!

Silverstar BC!
For mid-winter break we headed up to Canada to enjoy some good snow and amazing slopes!
This year was really exciting because we had 3 kids skiing! It is so fun to see them learning new things and the excitement that comes from conquering something. We went up with my parents and brothers (minus Talmage...we miss him!!!) The snow was great but it was pretty cloudy so that was a bummer!
we did plenty of this...
Ethan's first time playing in the snow, he wasn't quite sure what to do at first :>
Brayden showed him...
Check out this icicle that uncle Mckay found! It quickly became a sword!
We were at Silverstar when the Olympics were going on in Vancouver (a little West of where we were) and the torch had been carried by someone at Silverstar, so they had it on display. We were in the right place at the right time and were lucky enough to get to hold an actual Olympic torch...with the official mittens that I got at Christmas!
