Jetty Island

On one particularly hot day, (yes, that is 106 degrees in Seattle!) we decided to head North to Jetty Island. It was my first time going there and we had a blast! The water was warm and shallow for the kids to play in and we had some great company!

Kjarsta's Reception

Kjarsta had a beautiful reception on Lake Sammamish and we had a great time!

until it started raining....

But the storm didn't last too long and a little rain never stops a person from Seattle! Best wishes Kjarsta and Kristian!

Water skiing

With all the time we spent at the lake, we finally talked Kailey into trying to water ski. So we talked her through it... Got her tips up....
And, wouldn't you know it, it only took one time!
We were all so excited! We forgot to tell her how to get down we she was done!

Feelin' hot hot hot!

This summer was amazingly hot for Seattle. We had no rain for over two months and a couple weeks of 90 or 100 degree weather. To make things more exciting, houses out here do not have a central AC, we have fans ;> Needless to say, we were at the lake everyday and I loved every moment!To make things even better, the Mckeons and Kinghorns were in town for Kjarsta's reception

and the Harkers were also visiting!

So many good times! We love when family comes to visit!

Look who's 6!

Jada turned 6 while we were in Raymond and is getting ready to go into all-day kindergarten! She is such a sweet, thoughtful girl, who loves pink and glitter!

and dresses...and animals...Earlier, way earlier, that morning I had taken Ethan out of the house for a walk so all the other normal sleeping people could sleep. And I found some kitten living in a small shack on the side of the road. I knew Jada would absolutely love to see these kittens so I brought her back after her birthday celebration to hold the kittens. Well, a man with this horse came by and offered a ride to Kailey and Jada who were thrilled! What a fun end to her birthday!

Toot Toot

While in Raymond, we payed a visit to my Grandfather's grave. Grandpa Holly was a sweet, mellow grandfather who is greatly missed! I'm sure he's looking down on us and watching his great-grandchildren grow up, but I wish they knew him.

Two Wheels

After the parade I was busy getting some food ready, etc. and Brayden found this little bike in the garage. I came out an hour later and to my amazement, he'd taught himself how to ride a bike! No running down the road, promising not to let go or anything.

He was determined, which made Jada want to try as soon as she could get back to a proper girls bike (said with a little sass).

To Eternity and Beyond!

On July 1st, in Raymond, there is always a parade...complete with horses, Mounties, and the marching band. Growing up, I participated in many parades but the DeMeester's hadn't done one in a while. So this year we dug out our shiniest apparel and put together an award winning family float!
