Lions and Tigers and no bears, oh my!

The kids had a day off from school so I decided it was the perfect day to go to the zoo. Friday morning at 1 a.m. Brayden threw up and was screaming that his ear hurt. So, as soon as the office opened I dragged him to the doctor determined not to let an ear infection ruin my plans. We were in and out fairly quickly and on the way to the zoo I stopped to pick up the antibiotics. We arrived later than I had planned but we made it and that is more than half the battle!

Funny story: the peacock kinda charged at Brayden when he got too close so I made the kids stay back. The next day I heard about a peacock charging and hurting a child at the zoo...I might have a picture of the culprit!

Shawn's Birthday at the beach

So, it was Shawn's birthday on May 18th and all he wanted to do was go to the beach since is was going to be 95 degrees. We had a great time playing and roasting hotdogs and s'mores, but I didn't get any pictures of the birthday boy...sorry Shawn!

Jada's preschool had a musical performance for Mother's Day today. Jada loves to sing and dance and this has been something that she has been looking forward to. She has really started to be confident enough to enjoy being with people and even doing a little performing!

These are a couple photos of Kailey's first softball game. She really enjoys it and does quite well. She usually hits the ball into the outfield and the girls all duck when she throws it because she has such a strong arm. I guess hitting one of the girls in the face with the ball didn't help but she does have great aim!
Just our luck...it was lightly snowing throughout the game! It is April people!It was cold and Little League games are notoriously slow paced....

One Week Old

Ethan Hesham Abdel Rahman Hanafi Mohamed

For those of you who were asking about his full name, there it is. Ethan is such a good baby and as far as I can tell he loves to eat, sleep and be held. Shocker. It is wonderful to have a baby again, though I forgot how fun it was to lug around a diaper bag and change a blowout when you are trying to get out the door. The kids love to hold him and have adjusted fairly well. Thank you to all of you for your well wishes and love. It is wonderful to have such supportive family and friends.

I think everyone looks great considering we've been awake all night.

It's a Boy!!!

Welcome, Ethan Mohamed

Well, it finally happened. Jacqueline went to the hospital at 8:30pm on Tuesday to be induced and was in labor through the night (yes, that was cruel) and give birth to a healthy 7 pound 7 ounce boy at 6:11am Wednsday, 4/2/08. He is 19 inches long and has blond hair under that cap. His name is Ethan and has been a very mellow baby. And believe me, that's a welcome trait as the fourth child. Our resident bLogger will resume her post when she recovers. We love you and thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
